Our Story

Sipping Local. Sharing Good Vibes. Exploring Monticello Wine Country.

We're Jefferson and Elizabeth Sharpe co-founders of Good Vibes Wine Tours and proud residents of Crozet, Virginia. After years in the fast-paced world of Wall Street (Jefferson in finance, Elizabeth in foreign exchange), we chose to slow down and reconnect with what we love: great wine, scenic views, and community.

Our journey took us through Napa Valley, where we each spent time learning to appreciate the art and heart behind every bottle. That experience lit a spark - and when we discovered the magic happening in Virginia's own backyard, we knew we had to be part of it.
Now based in the heart of Monticello Wine Country, we're on a mission to introduce others to the incredible wineries, breweries, and distilleries popping up across Central Virginia. From historic estates to hidden mountain gems, this region is exploding with flavor, creativity, and soul.

We built Good Vibes Wine Tours to be more than a ride - it's a chance to slow down, soak it in, and connect with the land, the makers, and the people around you. With UVA spirit in our hearts and a glass of something local in hand, we're here to make your time in Virginia unforgettable one sip at a time.

Elizabeth Sharpe

Co-Founder, Good Vibes Wine Tours, LLC

Hailing from Upstate New York, Elizabeth brings her energy and global perspective from her days working in foreign exchange on Wall Street. These days, she's traded the trading floor for mountain views, fresh air, and a glass of wine in hand.

A lover of hiking, yoga, and all things outdoors, Elizabeth is passionate about creating relaxed, unforgettable experiences that connect people with Virginia's best wine, brews, and scenic beauty. She believes life's better with good vibes and great views - especially when shared with others.

Jefferson Sharpe

Co-Founder, Good Vibes Wine Tours, LLC

Originally born in Texas, I made my way to Crozet in 2020 after years working on Wall Street - where I met my wife and co-founder, Elizabeth. Before that, I spent a good amount of time soaking in the wine culture of Napa Valley, where I fell in love with the process behind every great bottle.

Now, I'm all about exploring what Virginia has to offer - from small-batch wineries and craft breweries to hidden gem distilleries. Good Vibes Wine Tours was built to share that love with others, one laid-back adventure at a time.

Questions + Answers

Far out, friend — absolutely! 🌻 If you roll with a custom or private tour, you get to call the shots and choose the wineries that speak to your vibe.

A few groovy notes:

  • Some wineries are a little exclusive and ask for reservations way ahead of time, so we can’t always guarantee those spots.

  • Most places are totally cool with “drop-in” tastings if your crew is eight or under.

  • Got a bigger bunch, or want to check out the more tucked-away gems? We’ll need to groove with the wineries in advance to lock it down.

Once you give us your wish list, we’ll handle the magic and make sure your day flows with nothing but good vibes.

Nope — just like in the rest of the service world, tips aren’t built in. Our crew pours their heart into every mile and moment, keeping your day smooth, safe, and full of good vibes. 💛 If your driver went above and beyond to keep the energy flowing, feel free to show a little extra love. It’s never expected, always appreciated — and always comes back around as good karma. ✌️✨

Groovy! 🌼 Once your date and time are locked in, one of our Good Vibes guides will reach out to jam with you on the details. ✨

We’ll chat about your group size, the wineries that vibe best with your crew, and the timing that keeps the day flowing easy. Some spots are more mellow and wide open, while others need a little advance harmony — but no worries, we’ll guide you through it all.

Think of it as us tuning the guitar before the show — making sure every note of your adventure plays just right. 🎶🍷

We like to keep things cool and carefree, so here’s the lowdown on what’s part of the ride:

  • 💧 Refresh & flow – We’ve got chilled bottled water for every guest, so you stay hydrated and happy.

  • 🍷 BYO vibes – State law keeps us from pouring the booze in the van, but you’re totally welcome to bring your own beverages along. Just keep it safe and groovy with non-glass cups while cruising.  We also can provide tumblers if you need.

  • 🎟️ Tastings, your way – Because of state rules, tasting fees are on you. Some wineries may ask you to prepay to lock in your spot, especially at the more popular or exclusive tasting rooms.

We’ll guide you through all the details so the day flows smooth, with nothing but good vibes from start to finish. ✌️

Peace, love, and puppies — we get it! 💛 You can bring your furry sidekick along, but a few ground rules keep the ride chill for everyone:

  • 🐶 Pets need to be approved before your reservation and must weigh 60 lbs or less.

  • 🌼 Approved animals roll with us for FREE !   Bringing them aboard but please confirm pets can go to your locations.

  • 💥 Any damage or heavy clean-up needed after the ride will be added to your bill once the tour wraps.

And about our Sanitation Fee:

✨ “You spill? We bill.” ✨We have the pro do the cleaning and charges $200.00.

That means if there’s a cosmic mess — think sticky vibes, big spills, or, yep, unfortunate “accidents” — there’ll be a charge for cleanup.

We love good energy and good company (two-legged or four!), so as long as everyone keeps it mellow, it’s all good vibes on board. 🌻

Wine Sip Tips

Look.

Tip the glass and stare before you smell or sip. As they age, red wines display hints of reddish-brown at the edges and whites become more golden; contributing to a fuller taste.

Smell.

The nose knows. The tongue can detect only five flavours, while the nose can distinguish among thousands. Gently swirl the wine in its glass to vaporize the alcohol and release the aroma of the wine. What do you smell? Sage, clover, apricot, plum or blueberries?

Taste.

The tip of the tongue senses sweetness. The back, bitterness. And the sides detect acidity. Take a small amount of the wine in your mouth and swirl it around to taste the complexity of its character. Are you still tasting it ten seconds later? Did the taste change?

Spit.

The more you spit, the more you can sip and sample. And it’s the perfectly proper thing to do. It’s also appropriate to pour the rest of the glass into the bucket the winery provides.

Feel.

Feel is the touch of the wine on your tongue. Is it rich, full, lean or bubbly? Does it tingle at the edges? Tannins, for example, feel dry on the tongue; like biting into a grape seed or drinking a cup of over-steeped black tea.

Cleanse.

A couple of crackers or a sip of water will cleanse the palate and clear the way for the next experience.

We had such a great time on our tour! Jefferson was so helpful working with us to pick wineries and breweries that would work for our group. He even helped us pick places to go the day before on our own. They were very flexible with a couple different changes. The transportation was great – very comfortable. Would definitely recommend and would go again when in the mountains next.
